Introducing Stacks: The Next Evolution of Tutorial Collections

When we first announced Tutorial Collections, we promised a smarter way to group tutorials into meaningful bundles. As the feature got closer to launch, it became clear that the name needed to work harder for us. It needed to feel sharper, clearer and more aligned with where Tutorial Rocks is heading.

Today we’re introducing Stacks.
A new name. Same purpose. Much stronger identity.

Why We Renamed Collections to Stacks

Collections worked as a placeholder, but it never fully captured the idea behind the feature. Stacks fixes that.

Stacks communicate structure. When you learn, you build knowledge layer by layer. Stacks represent that process.
Stacks fit the brand. Tutorial Rocks is fast, clean and intentional. The new name matches that tone.
Stacks prepare us for expansion. This feature is going to grow. Renaming now sets the foundation.

From a search and discovery standpoint, “Stacks” is also more distinctive and easier to rank for, which helps users find the feature faster through Google.

What’s Changing

The rename touches every part of the platform.

  • “Collections” becomes “Stacks” across the interface, documentation and blog.
  • Old URLs and internal references will be updated or redirected to preserve SEO value.
  • Our social media, help pages and onboarding flows will reflect the new terminology.

Nothing functional is removed. The rename simply improves clarity and scalability.

What Stays the Same

Even with the new name, Stacks still operate exactly as before.

  • You can group tutorials into structured bundles with a clear learning goal.
  • Staff curated Stacks will roll out first.
  • User-created Stacks and AI-generated Stacks are scheduled for later phases.
  • Existing navigation and content layouts remain unchanged.

If you understood Collections, you understand Stacks. The name is the only major shift.

What’s Coming Next

The rename is more than a cosmetic update. It sets us up for what’s arriving soon.

Staff Curated Stacks

Expect foundational bundles covering Python, GCSE subjects, computing fundamentals and more.

User-Created Stacks

Soon you’ll be able to build your own Stacks, personalise learning flows and share them with your peers.

AI-Assisted Stacks

An upcoming addition will let AI generate recommended Stacks based on difficulty level, popularity and your learning goals. Every AI-generated Stack will be reviewed before it becomes public.

Documentation Updates

Our guides, support articles and help centre content are being refreshed to match the new terminology. Redirects ensure no SEO value is lost.

Why This Matters

Tutorial Rocks is growing into a full learning ecosystem. Names need to scale with the product. Stacks gives us a strong, memorable term that reflects how people actually learn. Layer by layer. Topic by topic. One stack at a time.

This rename lets us move faster, communicate better and unlock future features without confusion.

Final Thoughts

Stacks mark the beginning of the next phase of Tutorial Rocks. They’re simple, powerful and designed to support the platform as it expands.

You’ll start seeing the new name across the site over the coming days. As always, feedback is welcome. Stacks are built for learners, and we want them to feel intuitive from day one.
