Announcing Tutorial Collections — Coming Mid December

Zak Morris November 28, 2025 Education Innovation

A new way to explore and organise tutorials is on the way. Tutorial Collections will introduce a flexible, curated layer to the platform that sits between individual tutorials and full Learning Paths. This feature is designed to make discovery faster, cleaner and more personalised without forcing users through a structured sequence.

Collections allow related tutorials to be bundled together under a single theme. They can cover anything from exam prep sets to practical computing groups, revision packs or quick skill boosts. They are simple, lightweight and designed to improve the way people navigate larger topics.

Rolling Out in Three Stages

Stage 1: Staff Selected (Launch)

At launch, only TR staff will be able to create and publish Collections. This ensures the feature arrives with high quality, well-curated examples and a consistent look and feel across the platform. Expect sets like Computing Essentials, Python Fundamentals and various revision-themed groups to appear first.

Stage 2: User-Created Collections

After the initial release settles and the system proves stable, users will gain access to create their own Collections. This will open the door for personal study bundles, community-driven sets and custom groupings that suit different study styles. Public Collections will be moderated to maintain quality.

Stage 3: AI Auto-Generated Collections

In a later update, an AI-driven engine will begin generating Collections automatically. It will scan the tutorial library, detect patterns and form useful bundles such as “Most Viewed This Month”, “Beginner Networking” or “SQL Quick Fixes”. All AI-generated Collections will require staff approval before going live.

Why It Matters

Collections give users a faster route into learning. They remove friction, help surface valuable content and make large subjects easier to navigate. They also strengthen the Discover section by keeping it fresh, organised and constantly evolving.

Expected Release

Tutorial Collections are currently in development and are expected to launch mid December. More details, previews and documentation will follow as the rollout approaches.

Tutorial Rocks continues to expand its feature set with a focus on clarity, structure and a smoother learning experience. Collections are the next step in that direction.
